I drive past this place ALL the time, and today I decided to finally try it. I'm DEFINITELY a fan. The dude on the phone was super helpful since I was a first-timer, and the chick who rang me up when I came in to pick up was great, too. My only complaint is that on a veggie sandwich, the veggies could be piled on a little higher. With that being said, the staff was great and the other reviews are so good, so I'm sure they would accommodate next time if I asked for just a little more lettuce and sprouts. Seems like a simple enough request. And despite the veggies being just a little sparse, my sandwich was a w e s o m e. Love the options for cold bottled drinks and side orders in the cooler. Its going to be a regular lunch stop for me for sure.

This was the only deli I found open on a Sunday in El Cajon that wasn't a chain. Their menu is basic and to the point which I appreciate. The have a half dozen signature sandwiches. The guy behind the counter was very personable at helpful. I ended up getting two of the signature sandwiches. The Chipotle So Gouda and Frankie Carbone, both on onion buns. Both sandwiches were great. My wife and I shared half of each. The chipotle is very evident in the Chipotle So Gouda and the Frankie Carbone is essentially a classic Italian made well. No cons about this place, better than the average but missing the wow factor. I would consider this a repeat and reliable place.

I saw this place on Yelp and sent my hub over to pick up sandwiches. He came home and said the manager helped decide his order. He ending up with The Belly Hot Jerk on wheat and Chipotle So Gouda on onion roll. Both spicy choices. Along with 2 pickle slices wrapped in little plastic sandwich bags and Boar's Head branded wrap, and a couple bags of Dirty's potato chips: salt & vinegar and funky fusion. The manager gave him a menu to go, a punch card, and a delivery card with coupons. We just gobbled it all up OMG no shame haha! A new fav sandwich shop for sure!

I'm not sure why I haven't been coming here more often, the sandwiches are amazing! I've tried others but the Chipotle chicken so gouda has got to be my new favorite sandwich, if I could eat it a couple times a week without gaining weight then I probably would.... yes it is that good, no lie! The meats (Boarshead brand), cheeses and veggies are very fresh, and I don't know it they make their own bread and wraps but they taste very fresh and homemade. The yelp link to order online for pick up or delivery is awesome, chose your options of food, pay and within ten minutes it will be there waiting for you, really love this feature, it's a great time saver if you're in a hurry!

The food is decent, but the customer service is marginal and the pricing is a bit high. I can get expensive, decent deli sandwiches in a lot of locations, and will choose to do so where the servers treat me like a valued customer, not as an annoyance. I have been here 4 times hoping for a change, as the establishment is near my house; however, there has not been any change in service - actually, it has been worse.

Just before going on a hike in the Jamul area, I was looking for a non-chain sandwich shop en route and Deli Belly was the only one that I could find that was open on Sunday. It's tucked into a nondescript strip mall and I initially went right past it before making a u-turn on Jamacha to track it down. I had the Chipotle So Gouda on a Onion roll. The bread was really good and the sandwich had a decent amount of chicken. I didn't get the mayo spread and wish there were more avocados to make up for the lack of a spread. Maybe next time, I'll add a little mustard or oil & vinegar. I'd like to try some of their other sandwich selections should I ever happen to be in this neck of the woods again.

Located in the outskirts of Rancho San Diego as you enter El Cajon in a small strip mall, you can find this newly opened Deli featuring high quality Boar's Head Meat that will certainly satisfy anyone's belly, hence the name, Deli Belly. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly young man, and my attention went directly to the counter with all the deli meats. With my drink, pesto pasta, and a medium drink, my meal came to $11. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/deli… ) First of all, if you try the Jerk Turkey, you must understand it has a nice kick to it. The heat was good and it was a lingering heat at times. That being said the turkey tasted great and coupled with the crispy bacon, cheese, avocado, and fresh greens, it made for a great tasting sandwich brought along with some great texture as well. They also carry hummus and tabouli in addition to your regular deli sides, such as potato and macaroni salad. The food was no doubt a four star event, but when I added up the hospitality of the employees and owner, I was inclined to add another star. Well done and thank you for the great meal. My belly feels great....

The Belly Boy is pretty darn good. The Mediterranean was no good and actually should be removed from the menu. Justification for the 4 star rating is from our previous visit at which time our sandwiches were great and the customer service is great always.

I have been here twice. First time was good. Chili was a little salty for my taste. The second time I ordered for delivery- 2 chili's, 2 sandwiches and a salad. They gave me the wrong salad, which kind of sucked. The sandwiches seemed really small for the price, comparable to a dominos sandwich not a deli.

Was greeted by a nice girl as soon as I walked in, but a younger kid that works there needs to be a lot friendlier. I am Giving the Food 5 stars. Amazing quality and so yummy! They shave the deli meat fresh, the sandwich was stacked and they have a good deal on their combos. I ordered the spicy Chicken chipotle & Gouda sandwich and it was soooo delicious! Packed with meat, cheese and perfect amount of veggies. I also had the soup of the day, "lobster bisque" which was so creamy, and just enough balance in flavor. I'll be back for sure and I recommend stopping by!

I'm not sure I would have ever stumbled across this place if it wasn't for Yelp, but I'm so glad I did! The deli is clean, features Boar's Head, and has ample seating and parking. I was helped right away and was in and out in under 5 minutes. I ordered the Chipotle So Gouda and was really impressed! It had the perfect amount of heat. It was exactly what I was looking for. Great new sandwich shop in El Cajon. Family run with a eye towards quality (Boar's Head cold cuts, Mexican Coke and daily delivered bread) I've yet to have anything I didn't love. WHEN YOU GO- Their version of an Italian sub, the Frankie Carbonne, is my go to here. Lots of the bad stuff- salami, cheese ham doused with their own dressing on a house roll...mmmmm! I want one now!

Ive tried a quite a few delis here in san diego and this is by far my best find!! They use all boars head meats... I got the hot hot pastrami and usually delis microwave it but they had some type of steamer for meats which didnt dry out the meat!!! All in all the place is clean, staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the portions !! Will def go back.

Ladies & Gentlemen we've been finally recognize and addressed to have an awesome, delicious, good quality LEGITIMATE deli shop in the city of "EL CAJON." Okay, having said that, they have "Boar's head" meats ready to be served and carry out if u want that extra meat "wink wink" haha So let me please express my love to boars head: they have sharp cheddar cheeses and meats i.e., bolognas and italian hams along with all their condiments which is an A+ in m book... Okay moving on, I ordered the classic turkey and ham with everything along w/ its condiments that I can possibly fit in one sandwich. i know am fat!!! its in my DNA The bread was super fresh (daily ordered) never used on the 2nd day!! After seeing great reviews on Yelp so my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try. We walked in and were greeted by a man and a woman who were working there. They asked if it was our first time there and we said yes. They were very helpful and friendly and let us try samples of some of the meats and cheeses! I got a white bread roll with the jerk turkey, cheddar, mayo and mustard, tomatoes, black olives, jalapeños, and lettuce. This was the best sandwich I have ever tasted in my life. (I am not exaggerating). It was absolutely amazing and the most flavorful sandwich I have ever had. And I appreciate that they don't skimp out on the portions like other sandwich shops. Definitely better than the crap they have at Subway! Anyways this is an absolutely amazing hidden gem and I recommend anyone to try this place! Sadly, on my second return here the employees were not as kind as the first time. Not even a smile or a hello from any of the three employees, and the girl behind the counter made me feel really uncomfortable with how unfriendly and monotone she was; to a point where I wanted to hurry up and leave as soon as I could. The owners should look into hiring people with good people skills and not the awkward kids from the high school down the street. The sandwich was still good but I was upset with the fact that it wasn't toasted even after I was asked if I wanted it toasted and I said "yes" and she proceeded to not do so.

It was New Year's Eve. I was alone and hungry. Then, from the distance emerged a steed made of steel. That magical mechanical horse carried with it a meal from Deli Belly. It was a meal that would not only satiate my hunger but also my need for remaining in my PJs. In conclusion, great food and they deliver. Give them a try and you won't be dissatisfied!

Well, I just wanted to write an update to my review that I posted. I recently went back to deli belly and was presently pleased with the changes that they have made. As I mentioned the potato salad was keeping this restaurant from 5 stars but since the change I can now report that the potato salad is much better. They have two different one's to choose from. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try after hearing all the local buzz about it. Went in at 7:55 on a Friday night. They were just about to close. We walked in and were greeted by Norris who was so pleasant and not at all irritated that we were last minute customers. He answered all of our questions and offered many suggestions. We ordered to go and I ordered the Frankie Carbone sandwich and my Boyfriend ordered the Smoked so Gouda sandwich. Both were so delicious and packed with quality meats and cheeses. We ended up switching sandwiches because we wanted to taste both. The deli itself was clean and like I said before Norris was so gracious. We will definitely be back very soon.

First time there today! Deff found another local deli that actually has good good! The service was extra friendly! They made sure I left the place happy and satisfied!! I ordered the Chipotle So Gouda on an onion roll (chipotle chicken, chipotle Gouda cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, peppercincis & cajon mayo) wow amazing! Ordered ahead using PayPal, which was awesome. Menu was super easy to use. Picked up my order 10 minutes later and it was perfect! The two guys there were very attentive and polite. Best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. Clam chowder, antipasto salad and potato salad. Husband and kids were also huge fans. Will definitely, definitely be back!

So far the best sandwich place in El Cajon. My husband and I were immediately greeted and welcomed in. The sandwiches we're delicious but a little overpriced. They are huge so I recommend just the sandwich and no sides. I am from the east coast and it reminded me of the deli's back home. I do recommend eating here if you want a traditional deli sandwich and not the subway crap.

After reading all of the glowing reviews, my wife and I decided to try Deli Belly last night. We are both confused about how our experience wasn't at all like other reviewers'. The food quality was all over the place. I started with a small cup of clam chowder, which despite not having very many clams was pretty good - creamy and tasty. My wife started with a small order of chile, which she said was very good. We both had the Belly Boy sandwich, which we agree was only OK - more on that later. I also had a side order of potato salad, which was absolutely gross, as others have stated. Worst potato salad I've had in a long time. Another reviewer stated that they have two different kinds of potato salad. We were never told that so I guess they just gave me the wrong kind? Now the kicker: both of us have been sick all day with symptoms that indicate something was amiss with our dinner. Since the common factor is the sandwich, I would think something was not right there. We are definitely not going back!

I ate lunch here several times, I tried a different sandwich on each visit, it always test better than the last. but now I especially like the Panini chicken chipotle on rye bread toasted Panini style, it's my favorite and its very spicy, so now I started to hate to go to Subways and eat their due to the no comparison of the test here than subways, its way tastier here. I will go there because I go for the test, customer service was all right with me.

Although El Cajon is not known for top eateries, every town should have a great deli. One of the things that has been missing from Rancho San Diego/ El Cajon is a great deli. I stopped in today to try one of their Veggie and Cheese sandwiches and I have to say it's one of the best sandwiches around. They use fresh, high quality (Boars Head) meats. The sandwiches are pretty large and come on delicious, freshly baked bread and are loaded with toppings for under $7. They also have some really interesting signature sandwiches that I definitely plan on trying next time. The service is also very friendly.

What we've all been waiting for... A quality deli spot in the El Cajon/Rancho San Diego area. I've already been here multiple times since it's opened and I just can't get enough. The meats are amazing (boar's head of course), the service is top-notch and family friendly, and the all the different sandwich variations and soups are on point. It's hard for me to pick a favorite sandwich but you can never go wrong with The FA (pastrami and corned beef on onion roll), the belly hot jerk (spicy turkey), or the Chipotle So Gouda (spicy chicken). This place will be a staple in the area for years to come.

I love finding good delis that aren't a franchise. I stumbled across this sandwich spot in East County San Diego after trying a lot of the familiar ones already, like Antonelli's. Let me say this place is the best deli/sandwich spot in East County. It's a family run place and it couldn't be better. It's clean, friendly and extremely tasty. I felt that this place was a bit pretentious since I heard such gushing reviews when they first opened but then heard from several friends who visited here that it was "OK".... Well after driving by this place every single day for the past 3 months I finally decided to give it a try. I was very happy to see they offer tortilla wraps for all the sandwich options as I tend to prefer those. I chose the make your own option with Turkey Breast and everything added. It was pretty good and very filling. The young man making my sandwich was very friendly and polite. While this place is miles above subway, it's not exactly a gourmet deli either.

After months and months of procrastination, we finally went down the street and tried Deli Belly yesterday for lunch. So glad that we did!! The sandwiches were fantastic! Everyone in my family ordered the Belly Hot Jerk Sandwich. Delicious!!! The people behind the counter were very friendly. I ordered online and when I showed up, they were busy and had not gotten to my order yet. They guy felt so bad, apologized for the wait, and told me to pick any bottled drink that I wanted, on the house, to drink while I waited. The sandwiches were so yummy...definitely worth waiting for. The portions are big, and I love that they use Boar's Head meats (much healthier than the garbage they use at Subway). Their prices are very reasonable. We will be back!!!

Finally a good deli in town! Everything is AMAZING at Deli Belly. Been there a few times since its opened up and the staff is super friendly and attentive to their customers. I highly recommend the Chipotle so Gouda. The Chipotle sauce used gives it a little spice and perfect kick to the sandwich. The sandwiches are packed with meat and toppings which is very filling.
